Epilation

Epilation options include Hard Wax, Cold Wax, Electrolysis, Electric Tweezers, Tweezing, and Waxing.

Hard Wax

The use of hard wax was recorded centuries ago and is one of the oldest known methods of hair removal. Epilation strips are not used with hard wax. A can of hard wax is melted to a thick creamy consistency and applied thick in the direction of hair growth. The wax is allowed to set and become slightly tacky to the touch. The end of the wax is “flicked”, lifted and pulled up quickly in the opposite direction of hair growth.

Cold Wax

Cold wax requires no heating as does hard wax. Basically, the results are the same: breakage will occur. This method of waxing is more practical for home use as it can be readily used. It comes in jars, tubes and pre-waxed strips. Wax is smoothed on the area in the direction of hair growth; an epilation strip is placed over the wax and then rapidly removed. Because the cold wax contains no heat, pores remain closed, and the pain is greater.

Sugaring

This technique originated in Egypt. The sugar paste is heated to the consistency of honey and applied warm. The procedure is similar to waxing. The traditional mixture is sugar, water and lemon.

Electrolysis

Electrolysis is the only known method of permanent hair removal. With this method, a small needle is inserted into each hair follicle until it reaches the root. Electricity (galvanized current) is then conducted through the needle to kill the hair root, making the follicle unable to produce hair. This must be done very carefully. Electrolysis is not often successful with the first session and must be repeated. Electrolysis is time consuming, and therefore often costly for large areas in which much hair is to be removed. For that reason, many electrologists are combining their service with other methods of hair removal such as waxing.

Electric Tweezers

The most recent salon method of hair removal. Electric tweezers send an electrical galvanized current to the root of each hair by means of tweezers. Hair is not an effective conductor of electricity however, so each hair is really being tweezed from a still-live root. Contrary to the claims of many manufacturers, most electric tweezers do not remove hair permanently. The electric-tweezer method must be performed on a hair-by-hair basis; it would take much time and money to treat all but the sparsest areas of unwanted hair. Since re-growth occurs relatively fast with this method, the user is in for a costly maintenance program.

Tweezing

Removing hair with tweezers is an ancient ritual and certainly has not improved much over the centuries. Today tweezing is generally limited to the eyebrows.

It is a painstaking, time-consuming process and often needs to be done two or three times a week for a hair-free brow. Needless to say, If not done properly, it can be a painful procedure.

Threading

Threading is an ancient method of hair removal. Threading can be a good method for sensitive skin. Threading provides clean lines especially to eyebrows and also removes hair from upper lips and other facial areas. A thin warped, pure cotton thread is twisted and looped around the hair as it is pulled out from the root. Follow local State Board regulations.

Lasers

The laser emits an invisible light which penetrates the skin, targets the pigment in the hair called melanin. The light is absorbed, heats the hair follicle at its base, creating inflammation which can disable the follicle, destroying the hair without irritating the skin. Because the hair grows in cycles the new hair will begin in about two weeks. It is necessary to schedule several appointments. The best results are seen in dark hair on light skin. Since the laser targets the melanin dark skin experience hyper pigmentation or even browning. It is not as effective on light hair as the laser is attracted to the melanin in the hair. Laser hair removal is expensive and it is not guaranteed as permanent.

Waxing

Contemplate the disadvantages we've outlined concerning the popular current methods of hair removal and consider them eliminated by GiGi Honee. GiGi Honee contains pure clover honey, is completely natural, and it works below the skin's surface. Because the warmth of the liquid wax allows the pores to expand, the hair and papilla can be removed less painfully. Every time hair is removed with wax, a new papilla must be formed. Consistent removal will weaken the papilla's regeneration. Consequently, hair will be finer and softer as it grows back, and each time it will most likely take longer to regrow.

It is simple to maintain the correct temperature of GiGi Honee all day, therefore it is always safe and ready to use. Since GiGi Honee is applied in a thin, transparent layer, each container goes a long way. After application, GiGi Honee is ready to be removed immediately, resulting in efficient and remarkably effective hair removal.
